Just a quick update on the pit exit protocol here guys. You have to go to the very end of the pit lane exit and not cross onto the track before that to avoid unnecessary incidents with cars coming full pelt down the main straight.

To this end we've decided to put the pit exit penalties on fire this race. So just be aware of this fact and remember the furore here in the real life race when Simon Pagenaut cut in too early... That is not allowed here in our race, we are much more strict that the real deal lol ☝🏽

EDIT: Just to clarify that the pit exit line extends to around 50 meters before the first corner. You have to get to the end of the yellow line before joining the track proper, not the blue line that ends much earlier.

Gents,

Be aware that the Pit Lane Exit is not part of the Track and is only to be used by cars exiting the Pit Lane, also can we all insure that when we leave the Pits we must not rejoin the circuit until the end of the Pit Lane Exit. For this race we will run the Pit Lane Exit Penalty so make sure that this option is enabled in your test races and practice sessions.

Just managed to get a short practice in here as I know I will struggle to get much time in over the next couple of weeks. Such a fun but ultimately dangerous track. I'm in the low 1:08 range on full fuel after this brief test so hope to find some more time and get into the 1:07's with a bit more time and setup tweaking.

I don't usually work much on quali setups but the tight nature of this track means that starting position can be crucial to avoid early incidents so I will look at that once I am settled on race setup.

It's basically that way to prevent drivers coming on to track early into the path of cars going at top speed. With the exit being much further down the approaching car will be on the brakes and turning in so should avoid high speed incidents. Of course the car exiting the pits still has to be aware of what's happening behind them...

Just found a typo 😬, it says the race date is Sat. July 5th but there is no July 5th for Saturday 2020, it's actually the 4th of July Independence Day in 'Merica. I should still be good to make it since start time will be 3pm for me.

Well shit, appreciate the invite mate! Lol I was at work anyways, wouldn't have been able to even if I wanted.

Couldnt get to sleep before work tonight (shocker) so I took about 45 minutes to get back up to speed with long Beach again, last time I turned laps here was a while ago after one of the WEC races with Dave and a few others for some practice. It's honest-to-god surprising to me how well these cars seem to mesh into this track.

Sniped Dave's TT setup and after a couple little tweaks to fuel and tire pressures I managed a 1:08.9 on the blacks, haven't tried the reds yet but I'd guess 1:07s easily on those. I like to have these cars quick on the blacks before I even touch the reds, that way I don't end up with a quick car on reds that suffers on the blacks so we'll see what we get tomorrow/later today after some more testing
