Tyre temps different depending on framerate... that's one i've not heard of before. How are you finding the temps since you moved to wheel Mitch?

I haven't actually had time to even use the wheel 😔 I'm hopefully getting my set up finished where I can actually use it and get some practice on over the next couple weeks.

General consensus is that they've basically broke the tyre temps so you can go back to hotlapping all race

Tyre management was one of the best aspects of the game.if that's now removed... If I wanted hotlapping I would just do TT. Need to test it out myself but if it's as bad as some are claiming we might as well do away with damage as well and just go 50% races 😣

I had a run today with the new patch. TBH i can't really remember how the tyre temps were before...it's literally been months since i had a propper run in this game. I had a quick run online at Australia and was slow. the tyre tyemps seemed to be going up and down like they should.... the surface temps went up and down, and the carcass temps gradually increased. I did try to overheat them and it seemed to take longer than before to cause them to overheat internally, but again it's been ages since i had any racing with this game.
Can Mitch or Boothy give their opinion from the controller side of things?

Yeah she Karl, our last race of last season was my last real run in the game. Just can't seem to get the motivation for it at the moment but I'm hoping that will come in time to get in some decent practice for the first race.
Don't forget guys the first race sign-up thread had been up for ages so get your names down for it.

Before the carcass temps starting to go about 105C to cause it to heat /wear now i got to 120c and it was still green

The key is not so much what temperature they can reach but at what temperature they lose grip and based on what Boothy and others on the forums have found that window has been opened up considerably now which basically means tyre management takes a back seat. Bad news in my view.

I'm confused about this whole tyre temp issue. If they aligned the temps between platforms due to frame rate issue then how can that affect the way the tyres behave between wheel users and controller users on the xbox platform?

It wasn't exclusively a pad issue, Peter said he had troubles with the tyre temps at the start. It was more rare for a wheel user to suffer, but I have no clue how it would be related to frame rate unless it went purely by how the wheel moves on the screen which with a pad looks like it's playing in 10fps due to the range of movement and that was playing havoc with everything 🤷🏻♂️
That would be my guess to be honest, whatever the issue actually was, the patch proved that there was actually an issue cause they wouldn't have fixed it this late otherwise.

The history of these games is littered with fixes for things that weren't actually broken but made the game more difficult for pad users. As they are still the majority of those playing the games they have tended to bow to the pressure rather then alienate that user base.
