Here's an update on the proposed practice race at Texas:-
PRACTICE EVENT SATURDAY, 21st August at 9pm UK
Texas Motor Speedway
20 minute practice, 20 minute qualifying and one hour race.
Please let me know if you are interested. A minimum of 8 drivers will be needed to give this any legs.

There are several uncertain for this one on either date so if we reach next Wednesday with numbers still low we will have to look at rescheduling.

Anyone done any Texas practice yet? I’ll hopefully make next Saturday so we’ll get some seat time between now and then.
I’ve actually spent a couple of sessions at Road America this week. I started catching up with the real Indycar season watching both Detroit races and Road America and it got the juices flowing for some track time. Would love to have Detroit to drive but settled for RA and had a blast and have a decent setup in place that I can work on before we land there.

I've done some practice at Texas. I'm still pretty slow. Slowly dialing back the downforce. I hope to be able to run some more practice tomorrow. It's a crazy busy weekend.
I was working on Indy setups last night. Will work on Texas most likely Sunday evening.

They actually gave me money to go to the races.  I was stationed by the Suite entrances and was able to go up on the balcony to watch some Qualifications and practice. Saturday the Band had a show so I wasn't able to be there. Sunday was the best. My primary view was a cinderblock wall.  I was up on the balcony when they broke the curb in the Chicane Turns 4/5. What a mess. NASCAR splitter and Metal curbing don't get alone. I tried to grab some pics with my phone. It just doesn't work as well as my Canon. If any of them are decent I'll post them. |

I had my first run out at Texas last night. Been so long since being on track on an oval but didn’t take long to get into a decent groove. Quali pace was around the mid 23 mark with a draft and full race trim was low 25 dropping to low to mid 24 as the fuel load lightened. Fastest lap last year at Texas was a 24.400 which I set myself in the race and quali was mid 23 so I’m there or thereabouts already.
With no further signups it’s looking like another light grid for Saturday. I’m hopeful of making it myself which would give us 8 but that’s a couple less than I would have liked as with that few it just takes a login problem or two and early crash to have us racing and with half a dozen or less.

I'm running upper 24s at the moment in TT. Going to make the switch to Practice and race later. This way I have all your secret setups...Oh Wait...They aren't so secret anymore. |

No idea what setups I have on the TT leaderboards, can’t remember the last time I did any Indycar in that mode lol. Can’t remember what time I set either. |

Unfortunately some technicians will work to install the optical fiber for the internet ... and they will start just Saturday morning.
I don't know the duration of the works .. but they talked about the whole weekend ..
I am sorry.
But I confirm my subscription to the championship.

Current intentions are to be there, situation as discussed is a bit up in the air but we'll deal with it as we can. If it does end up rescheduled I'll work around that as well.

With numbers dwindling guys I’m not sure of the value of this tomorrow, especially as there’s been very little chatter about it. I’ll see what happens over the coming hours but as I’ll be cutting short a day out tomorrow to make it i’m reluctant to do so with such little interest.

I am very sorry not there tonight, but I hope with all my heart that this championship can start. In fact I am to confirm my registration for the beginning to Willow!
