As the title states who is going to convince me to buy it .
I purposely didn't pre order and the initial feedback on the forum has me wondering if the game looks beautiful but is the underlying development worth investing in - so come on convince me !!!

Found a good deal on the basic game for £20 so took the plunge as a a back up game . .... ........ ........... .............. OK i confess to get the £20 deal I had to buy the x box one x , BT hey I was going to anyway so £20 seemed a good deal. Now if I can get pcars 2 for £20 ..?..............

I'm the same as you Bud in that I've cancelled my pre-order and the the feedback I've seen since release has not really done anything to make me think it was the wrong move. General consensus seems to be a bit ubderwhelming and its more of a pCars update than anything major. To really compound things the AI seems to be pretty poor and that is a major thing for me as I play mostly offline despite the leagues I race in.

The demo quite impressed me too. Loved the trucks 😁. I'll definitely be picking it up on or soon after release. I played Forza 6 more than the previous versions combined but mainly as a bit of a diversion from more serious racing.

I've got no complaints so far. Highly unlike me, but it's the truth.

I've got no complaints so far. Highly unlike me, but it's the truth. Innerspace HQ well I didn't expect that based on the comments on the forum; I presumed we hadn't heard from you as it had been filed in the bin! I suppose a lot of the issues being seen are cosmetic pit crews, invalid timings, but are you not affected by the FFB and career issues?

I've had the wheel go a little silly on me, but then Dirt did that too. I noticed a few tyre bugs in career, like sending me out with only two tyres on... Not sure if that's a pit error or not though haha. I settled in to some fabulous private testing time round Knockhill in the Merc touring car which was just gallus. I'm sure I'll find more problems as time goes on but there's a great deal of stuff to be getting on with in mean time. Not spent any real time in multiplayer but that'll be my focus later this coming week.

I've had a wee read at pc2 forum. Pretty scary. Mostly stuff I'm not experiencing though. I haven't even really mucked about with settings too much beyond lowering it but my ffb felt great. I'm gonna get a good few hours more logged and I'll report back but so far it's def been getting some HQ-Lovin'™.

Apart form the wheel issues so many are experiencing, why are these so prevalent with SMS.. I had my fair share in pCars1.. mainly online and it's really not something I want to have to deal with again this time, one of the other real concerns is the performance of the AI. The feedback I have been getting from the majority is that it's a step back from pCars 1. As someone who races probably 90% of the time offline the AI is mightily important so I was hoping for something that was at least as good as what we ended up with in pCars 1.

You know, I see people saying these things online, but I don't see 'em in the game. I had a couple non career AI races and with the AI up about 85 we were pretty tightly packed. Their driving was of no concern to me. Somebody went right up the back of me once with an almighty shunt but I did brake way early by mistake.
Like I say, I'm gonna try and get more time in, but as at right now all I'm seeing is the usual toxic nonsense from angry sim racers. This isn't how I want it, that isn't etc. It's been a largely trouble free experience for me. Lots to learn that is different but I think half people's problems so far are because it's different, not because it's worse. Just my two bobs based on their forum. Most things I see aren't bugs at all with the exception of tyre bugs in pits. I can wait for a patch, it's started so much stronger that the first game.

Fair enough.. think this is one of the confusing things, people having very different experiences of the same game on the same platform . Several of the guys I race with in F1 2017 and Assetto have all had the AI and wheel problems, some much worse than others with the general consensus being that it is worse than pCars 1 at this stage. The original plans for setting up league racing have been put on hold as a result.
How do you find the graphics.. that's something else that these guys are also not particularly happy with in comparison to pCars 1 which I did not expect. I can only assume it's because they are pushing the boundaries of what the One is capable with in terms of the overall game and have had to lose something in that department as a result?
You would think with the same game and platform there would be some uniformity on performance wouldn't you PS:- What aggression level do you use for the AI?

This haunted different bugs for different folks thing happened before. I must admit I've noticed a few things that don't look so pretty but let's face it, they aren't optimising properly for the X1... It's a heap of junk. It'll be all X, PS Pro and PC. I'm sick of things looking shite on that dud box they sold us.
I'll check on that aggression level, I raised it slightly but I'll be getting stuck into more testing tomorrow when I have the night off. From memory, I put the AI at about 87 or something. 90 felt too tough for a whole new handling model I was learning.

And can I just say... the Merc Touring Car. It makes me smile. That is all. No need for flowery words or paragraphs of marketing speek short and sweet and I'm starting to think about it. Innerspace HQ are you in the one s or just standard xbox , wondering if there performance differences between the two which maybe accounts for you nit seeing the bugs others have. Thinking it's going to get bought for beginning of November when the xbox x arrives

I'm on the standard xbox betamax player. Perhaps I haven't had a chance to dig deep enough but I'm in the camp of if I got 7 full hours that didn't annoy me once then there's plenty to keep going while they fix whatever the problems I wasn't having are. I'm looking forward to running it on X, I think SMS should give up trying to wring the neck of the original box performance. They aren't Rockstar and I think they need to recognise that. I'm all for overreaching but they don't have enough people to do the kind of things they want to. I point most of my blame at Microsnot for releasing such an underpowered machine in the first place.
And yeah, that touring car... That touring car...

I've got no plans to upgrade the Xbox myself. I'll continue to hold fire on purchase of pCars2 until further patches have been released. F1 2017 and Assetto are taking my time right now anyway so I'm in no great rush. I'll be looking at Nascar Heat 2 next I think. The first iteration of that game got slated but I actually had a lot of fun with it.

Hey guys, been awhile. I was absorbed with finishing every race in pcars 1 before moving on.
I have quite a few hours in on pcars2. The graphics are pretty good. You can actually drive in the rain (in the cars I have tried so far). If you get in the grass expect to spin around about a dozen times. Ice racing (at least in the formula rookie is impossible). Setup managements are a nightmare. I had to create and Access database so I could keep track of them since the game can't accomplish that. FFB on my TX feels pretty good to me, however there are times when it decides that it doesn't want to work at all.
I have been running the seasons with all rules and penalties and full practice, qualify, and race and I overall enjoy it. Overall I am glad I got the game. So far I have run the karts (watch out for full damage because the wheels fly off those things easily), Ginetta G40 Junior (that was a blast) and I am working on Formula Rookie (still a blast).
The AI can be a bit odd at times. I find myself adjusting it after every session. If I place in the top 3 I bump it up by 2. If I place outside of the top 5 I lower it by one. Overall the AI seem to perform better on practice sessions than they do in the actual race.
Another aspect is the full control of pit stops.
Other than fixing the known glitches the only thing this game could use would be keyboard support for all the settings so that way I can finally build a button box.

in general that it's no big step up from pCars 1 and many of the cars feel quite numb. Probably the biggest negative for me are the comments about very poor AI, I have not seen anyone have a positive thing to say about them. AI are really important to me as although I race online the majority of my time is spent offline. Also can you confirm that there is no individual car FFB settings now? Somebody I respect said this but I find that it to believe as it's so important to be able to set them individually for each car. No individual settings, but you can modify pre-race, in the pits, or on the track. I almost have my settings where I want them. There has been a lot of chatter of what are the best settings for the TX, but I didn't like any of them. Like I said I am close to finding the ones I like with the right amount of tire slip and not overbearing bumping.

Thanks for the feedback, very good to get first hand information of these things. There just appear too many anomalies so I will continue to hold fire for further updates. The comment on the wheel problem is a real issue for me as with pCars 1 I had various issues at times, especially online which I had hoped SMS would have resolved but it appears not to be the case.
Online seems to be a nightmare and one of the leagues I was running in that had planned to start up on pCars 2 have had all sorts of problems getting lobbies setup successfully. Very similar sounding to all the issues with league play in pCars 1 unfortunately.
